Amphenol PL-259 / UHF Male

Amphenol UHF Male connectors, commonly known as PL-259 plugs, are rugged, threaded RF coaxial connectors designed for reliable performance in low-frequency applications from DC to 300 MHz. Engineered by Amphenol RF, these non-constant impedance interconnects feature a robust brass body (often silver- or nickel-plated for superior conductivity and corrosion resistance), a large center conductor, and phenolic or PTFE dielectric materials that provide excellent mechanical strength and environmental durability. Widely used in amateur radio, CB communications, public address systems, antennas, and other high-power coaxial cable assemblies (such as RG-8, RG-213, and RG-214), they offer secure threaded mating, straightforward solder or crimp termination, and cost-effective reliability where precise 50-ohm impedance matching is not critical.
